Feeling overwhelmed? Do you need some time to think, make and enjoy the simple things in life, then welcome to The Craft Festival. Celebrating 16 years this summer, Bovey’s highly acclaimed, multi award winning festival will take place in the idyllic setting of Mill Marsh Park from June 7-9th.
It’s time to re-balance our busy lives and minds. Meet over 200 of the finest Makers selling their work, experience yoga by the river, live music and feasting, films under the stars, learning, laughing, lounging and loving life.
New features include Forge Fest (with Pole & Hunt) an extravaganza of blacksmithing and bashing metal & The Common Room (with Common Sense Studio) a grown-up making area to set free your creative inner self. Returning in triumph is our Craft Cinema, hosted in Audrey, our beautiful 1967 Bedford bus and Out of the Woods, a tent of dreamy woodland crafts and an opportunity to sit, watch and make curated by Heritage Craft Association Maker of the Year, Hilary Burns.
It doesn’t stop there; you can book onto a great range of craft workshops where you learn some serious skills. The Den returns with a programme packed for the most discerning of visitors: The Teenager. Families can come together to enjoy free craft activities in The Craft Lab (formerly the Children’s Craft Tent), street theatre, play area and puppet shows. Sharing skills is so important at the Craft Festival and a hand-picked collection of makers will be demonstrating their craft throughout the weekend.
