You’re going to visit Dartmoor, which is the true Heart of Devon! It has the capacity to offer something for everyone, regardless of your hobby, interest or passion.
For those who are looking forward to getting out and being Active on Dartmoor, please have a look at our Active Dartmoor page, where you will find a huge number of activities to choose from.
For the children try one of the family friendly attractions, take a trip on a steam train at the South Devon Railway or take them along for a very exciting day out at Dartmoor Zoo! How about a fascinating afternoon at War Horse Valley Farm?
Look out for bushcraft days, circus skills or arts and crafts days at one of the camping sites, tourist attractions or National Trust properties.

Indulge your inner horticulturalist and visit one of the many fabulous open gardens to be inspired and enchanted.
You can lose yourself in an abbey or enjoy learning about by-gone times at Buckfast Abbey
Finch Foundry or House of Marbles. If you love Museums and hands-on Heritage, don’t miss the wonderful Museum of Dartmoor Life in Okehampton or Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre at Lifton.
Why not spend an afternoon exploring an ancient stannary town like Tavistock or Chagford, enjoy some shopping in Bovey Tracey, take a wander amongst ancient castle ruins in Okehampton, step back in time at a museum, take in some heritage or feel inspired in one of the super galleries.
Whatever else you do, don't forget to visit one of the award winning Dartmoor National Park Visitor Centres at Princetown, Postbridge and Haytor. At Princetown you can enjoy interactive displays and fascinating exhibitions, learn about the history of Dartmoor, browse the extensive gifts on display and watch the Hairy Hands short film!
