Road Directions

Take M5 southbound. At Exeter take the A30 to Okehampton. 5 miles past Okehampton at Sourton Down take the A386 towards Tavistock. After 6 ½ miles turn right to Lydford (opposite Dartmoor Inn). After 0.6 miles Turn right at the war memorial (large granite cross) and take the left hand fork, signposted to Coryton. After ½ mile turn left onto a private lane signposted for Swallow Barn and Heathergate. After approx 0.3 miles there is a bungalow on the right (Raddon Barton), immediately turn left. Signposted to Swallow Barn and Raddon Farm (small sign in hedgerow). After 60 yds Swallow Barn is on the left accessed via a pair of wooden field gates.

Public Transport Directions

There are trains to Okehampton from Exeter from June to September. A bus runs between Okehampton and Tavistock, stopping at Lydford in each direction. It runs approximately every hour of day-time throughout the year, including Sundays; the journey from Okehampton to Lydford takes about 20 minutes, and from Tavistock to Lydford about 30 minutes.
