The hotel is surrounded by a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and boasts fabulous views over the Tamar Valley. Located just off the western edge of Dartmoor on the border between Devon and Cornwall, it provides an excellent choice for tourers, walkers and food lovers alike.
The team of 6 talented chefs use only the very best seasonal produce, sourced from local growers. The dinner menu might include a starter of St Ives mackerel with handpicked Brixham crab and cucumber, followed by a loin of Devon lamb with wild garlic, spring onions and a morel jus. Signature dessert dishes include a Valrhona chocolate and cherry assiette, or a rhubarb & custard tart with gingerbread ice cream.
Afternoon tea here is a real treat! Choose from Devon Cream Tea, Luxury Afternoon Tea, or Savoury Afternoon Tea. Special dietary needs are also well catered for.
The hotel’s 16 bedrooms are luxurious and well equipped. Rooms in the Main House are large and traditionally furnished. Original Coach House rooms are country in style and boast stunning valley views. New Coach House rooms (built in 2014) are large and contemporary. Most rooms have balconies overlooking the gardens and the stunning Tamar Valley. Most are also dog friendly
