Lydford House Hotel is a peacful and friendly Hotel & Restaurant on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Operating as hotel for over 100 years, the house was built by the celebrated artist William Widgery (1822-1893).
Surrounded by the high tors, it stands in 8 acres of delightful gardens and pasture land in the historic village of Lydford, through which the River Lyd rushes before tumbling into the renowned National Trust gorge with its spectacular White Lady waterfall.
Situated close to the Devon/Cornwall border, the high-cliffed North Cornish coastline, gentler South Devon coast, Eden Project and many other sites of interest are all less than an hours drive away.
Our rooms are named after the local Tors (hills), the majority have been extensively refurbished over the past few years and the hotel boasts contemporary facilities paired with Beautiful decor. We have seven doubles, one twin, two family triples and a family suite consisting of a double with adjoining twin. Within each room there are tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryers and LCD TVs. There is free access to wireless broadband in the rooms. Ground floor rooms are available. All are non-smoking. Well-behaved pets are welcome by prior arrangement (at a small extra cleaning cost), dog baskets are available on request.
