Lowertown Farm Bed & Breakfast is set in a peaceful rural hamlet within the Dart valley, three miles away from the picturesque village of Widecombe-in-the-Moor. We are surrounded by ninety three acres of farmland with open moorland above and below the farm. Luke and Hannah, the second generation to live at the 500yr old farmhouse, welcome you with a warm log fire (perfect for those cold winter nights), comfy sofas and full English Breakfasts.Whether it’s kayaking, climbing the granite tors, riding a horse across the moors or simply exploring the beauty of Dartmoor, Hannah and Luke, with their keen interest in the outdoors, are able to provide you with an enjoyable stay. We cater for groups, families, couples or singles but we try to limit ourselves to a maximum of six guests at any time, ensuring that you have an enjoyable, peaceful stay. All three bedrooms are furnished with high quality mattresses, John Lewis bed linen and fluffy bath and hand towels. Now offering free Wi-Fi throughout the farmhouse with a fairly good connection despite the thick Dartmoor granite walls. All guest bedrooms are upstairs and share a large bathroom (bath with shower above). As the three guest rooms share a bathroom not only does it save water, but it also means that we can keep a close eye on it – keeping it clean, hygienic and topped up with good quality eco-friendly toiletries, all made in the UK. Enjoy relaxing evenings in the guest sitting room reading our local magazines with its beautiful granite fireplace and log burner which provides heat to the bedrooms above, a beautiful oak dining table and comfy sofas. We are one of 100 British farms as part of Country Living Magazine’s Keep Britain Farming and we were rated number one, in Countryfile Magazine’s “Top Ten Farmstays in the UK”.
