You can cycle on public roads, byways open to all traffic, public bridleways, dedicated cycle paths (such as the Granite Way) and Forestry Commission roads. To help you enjoy more of the moor on your bike, Dartmoor National Park Authority has produced a comprehensive map of Dartmoor called Dartmoor for Cyclists, showing tried and tested cycle routes, whether you are cycling off-road or touring. The off-road routes have been graded and colour coded by cyclists so that you can easily identify the paths that will suit your ability and mood. The map includes enlargements of the Tamar Valley AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and Haldon Forest Park and shows public transport hubs. It is available to buy from Amazon here.
