Linear Cycle Routes on Dartmoor
Take a look below at just some of the cycle rides available for you to enjoy on Dartmoor. These ones are linear; it means you are not having to repeat any of your journey...but don't forget to arrange for someone to pick you up at the other end!

This is a national celebration of the social, health and environmental benefits of cycling. The week aims to get people to give cycling a go all over the UK. Dartmoor is very popular with both on and off road cyclists and the National Park website
Bedford Square, Tavistock
These four circular and one linear routes take you on a tour of some of the unspoilt areas of West Devon, including many points of interest along the way.
This is a linear route that links the two South Devon towns of Newton Abbot and Bovey Tracey. It is aimed at good cyclists above the age of 11 years old, as 80% of the route is on road with traffic.
This is a new, truly spectacular and mostly traffic free cycle route through rural Devon with fantastic views of Dartmoor and the surrounding countryside.
Tavistock to Plymouth
Drake’s Trail is a network of walking and cycling trails. The network has something for all ages and fitness levels, starting with the new off-road cycling section between Tavistock and Plymouth.
The route passes close to Brent Tor. If you decide to do the longer journey, then you will also pass Lydford Gorge and Waterfall (National Trust) and Lydford Castle (English Heritage).
