This is a great place to relax and escape the humdrum.. “Voted “Best Small Hotel” in the 2014/15 Devon Tourism Awards and widely regarded as one of Devon’s best restaurants. The hotel is surrounded by a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and boasts fabulous views over the Tamar Valley. Located just off the western edge of Dartmoor, it provides an excellent choice for tourers, walkers and food lovers alike.
Food features high on the agenda here, using the very best seasonal produce sourced from local growers. The dinner menu might include a starter of crab & prawn salad with a mango & chilli salsa, followed by Creedy Carver duck with pickled blackberries. A signature dessert dish is “Peach Melba”: Peach parfait, raspberry ice cream and vanilla pannacotta.
The hotel’s 16 bedrooms are luxurious and well equipped, with Vi spring beds, bottled water, towelling robes and quality toiletries. Rooms in the main house are large and traditionally furnished, whilst rooms in the coach house are more contemporary. Most rooms have balconies overlooking the gardens and the stunning Tamar Valley.
Open daily for lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and accommodation, The Horn of Plenty is located 5 minutes drive from Tavistock, 25 minutes from Plymouth.

Main House Rooms
Main House rooms offer a combination of elegance and classic sophistication with high ceilings, large windows, quality bathrooms and tasteful, traditional furnishings.
Best rooms (rooms 3 and 4) feature huge balconies offering uninterrupted views across the Tamar Valley.
Coach House Rooms
Coach House rooms are more contemporary. Individually designed, each room has its own unique character. Most have a balcony or terrace, with stunning views over the walled gardens and the stunning Devon countryside.
The bathrooms are modern, with large power showers and some have wet rooms.
6 new Coach House rooms were added in June 2014. These rooms are wonderfully spacious with gorgeous fabrics and furnishings. Bathrooms are luxurious, featuring stand-alone baths and separate Matki showers.
Well behaved dogs are welcome in Coach House rooms 5-10 at a small surcharge; please just let us know when you book.
