Dartmoor Farm Holidays
The outstanding landscape for which Dartmoor is known is managed by the farmers; they are the caretakers of Dartmoor. They raise their cattle on the high moor, tend to their sheep, look after the famous Dartmoor Ponies and keep the land so that visitors (human and wildlife) can enjoy it in peace.
Many of these farmers have been living on Dartmoor for over five generations, in beautiful rambling stone properties, hidden away from the rest of the world. Most of these farmers have their own spring water, collect their own eggs, and use local produce from theirs or the neighboring farm. It makes sense then that so many farmers are now offering accommodation.
You could stay in some of the most attractive properties on Dartmoor, eat local food straight from the farm for breakfast, walk straight out on to the moor for a day’s hiking and sink into soft sprung beds and clean white linen at the end of the day.
Great for families, many farms allow the children to pet the animals, and great for adults alike; what better way to get close to the real Dartmoor?
